WADS top performer meets with AMC commander
A top performer at the Western Air Defense Sector had the opportunity to meet the Air Mobility Command’s senior leaders during a visit to Joint Base Lewis-McChord April 6. Gen. Carlton D. Everhart II, left, Air Mobility Command commander, presented Staff Sgt. Elisa Layton, middle, RF Transmission Systems apprentice, with a commander's coin in recognition of her graduating from technical school at Keesler AFB as a distinguish graduate. She was awarded the "Top Graduate" in IT fundamentals with a 99% test average and recently received her Space Systems Technology Community College of the Air Force degree. Everhart and the Command Chief for Air Mobility Command, right, Chief Master Sgt. Shelina Frey, received an overview of WADS mission of maintaining North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) air sovereignty and aerospace control over 73 percent of the western United States.
