The Air Force recognizes that many Airmen could be at risk and has launched initiatives to help. One such initiative is RUfit (previously called Comprehensive Airmen Fitness) which focuses on individuals being more likely to be able to identify risk factors and seek help if required. It also focuses on maintaining a balanced and healthy lifestyle and includes physical, mental, social and spiritual pillars.
The Air Force Chaplain Corps provides spiritual care and the opportunity for Airmen, their families, and other authorized personnel to exercise their constitutional right to the free exercise of religion. This is accomplished through religious observances, providing pastoral care, and advising leadership on spiritual, ethical, moral, morale, core values, and religious accommodation issues.(U.S. Air Force graphic)

The Air Force released a policy memo today allowing Air Force civilian employees who are victims of sexual assault to file restricted and unrestricted reports with their installation's sexual assault response coordinator. The policy is effective immediately and allows SARCs and sexual assault prevention and response victim advocates to assist Air Force civilians who report sexual assaults by providing crisis intervention and advocacy services 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The Defense Department has given sexual assault victims a resource that helps them take control of their recovery process. Established in 2011, the DOD Safe Helpline is a crisis support service for members of the DOD community affected by sexual assault.
