U.S. Army 1st Lt. Quinn O’Roarke, 35th Air Defense Artillery Brigade tactical director, works with U.S. Air Force 1st Lt. Tyler Shoemaker, 225th Air Defense Squadron air battle manager, during a Joint Kill Chain Exercise 24-1 at the Western Air Defense Sector, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington, Feb. 12, 2024. The Western Air Defense Sector hosted its first ever three-week U.S. Army Air Defense Artillery Fire Control Officer (ADAFCO) course and follow-on Joint Kill Chain Exercise for 14 U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force students Jan. 29 – Feb. 16, 2024. Hosting the course at WADS saved the military travel money, provided WADS with valuable wartime training opportunities, and provided a high level of Agile Combat Employment and next generational adversarial training.
