  • WADS team runs 491 miles during 24-Hour POW/MIA Run

    Over 50 members of the Western Air Defense Sector ran a combined total of 491 miles during the 24-Hour POW/MIA Remembrance Run at the McChord Field track Sept. 19-20, 2019. WADS placed first in the team division with the 1-94th Field Artillery Regiment, 17th Field Artillery Brigade, finishing second with 288.5 miles and the 627th Security Forces Squadron finishing third with 241.5 miles.
  • WADS ABMs participate in Exercise Rainier War

    The Western Air Defense Sector participated in Exercise Rainier War June 26, 2019. Rainier War is semiannual large formation exercise, hosted by the 62nd Airlift Wing, designed to train aircrews under realistic scenarios that support a full spectrum operations against modern threats and replicate today’s contingency operations.

    The winners of the 2018 Western Air Defense Sector annual awards were announced during a ceremony Dec. 1, 2018. The nominees for each award category were the winners of their respective unit annual awards. The WADS is made up of the 225th Air Defense Group, 225th Air Defense Squadron and 225th Support Squadron.
  • Two WADS ultra-runners complete 174 miles during POW/MIA Remembrance Run

Krosby Keller and Bruce Robie challenged their athletic limits by jointly running the equivalent of more than six marathons during the Joint Base Lewis-McChord 24-Hour POW/MIA Remembrance Run Sept. 18-19, 2018.

    A Western Air Defense Sector air battle manager had an opportunity to expand his Joint Force interoperability knowledge and skills with 11 other Army officers when he attended the Air Defense Artillery Fire Control Officers (ADAFCO), Kirkland Air Force Base, New Mexico, in July 2018.
